About

What is a Zero K Run?

It’s an excuse to have a really good time and raise awareness and money for the CMT Research Foundation. Have you ever wanted to have the full experience of participating in a 5K, 10k or Marathon but just didn’t want to do the running part? This is the race for you!

From race packets, to running bibs, to finisher medals, to 0.0 stickers and more, everyone who signs up to “run” will get the full racer treatment and when the starter horn goes off, everyone will stand up from their lawn chair . . . and then sit back down.

Pre- and post-race will include great live  music, comedy, and entertainment for the whole family. It is an afternoon of fun, contests, activities food and drink all outdoors at the amazing Forgotten Star Brewery in Fridley, MN. Think big time fun for a cause!

CMT

What is Charcot-Marie-Tooth (CMT) Disease?

CMT is a hereditary degenerative nerve disease that affects over 3 million people worldwide. People afflicted with this disease experience varying degrees of issues with balance, walking, foot dragging, muscle weakness, foot deformity, loss of reflexes and more.

There are several promising drug tests going on to find ways to improve the lives of people with CMT and this event will help push those efforts forward.   You can learn more at:  www.cmtrf.org

FAQ's

  • Should I bring my own lawn chair?

    • Yes! The event will be outside and you should bring your own chair(s). We can help you get them to and from your vehicle if you need assistance.

  • Can people attend who are not registered for the race?

    • Yes they can, but they will not receive the racing packet, or be a part of the actual “race” and get the medals and prizes and things that come with being a registered participant. They will still be able to listen to great music and comedy and enjoy the festival atmosphere . . . and donate to the CMT Research Foundation.

  • Will there be food and beverages available?

    • Yes, food truck(s) and a variety of beverages will be available for sale at Forgotten Star Brewery. Coolers are not allowed on grounds unless needed for medical purposes.

  • Can people register right up to the day of the event?

    • We have space for 400 participants and we will keep registrations open until it is filled up.

  • How should I dress for this event?

    • However you’d like. We encourage any fun or funny workout attire but anything works.

  • Is this happening outside and what about rain?

    • Yes, this event is taking place outside rain or shine so please bring sunscreen and whatever else you would bring for day outside at a festival. There will be some limited shaded seating under canopies so come early if you want to claim those spots with your chairs.

  • Will there be ample handicapped parking?

    • Yes, there will be handicapped parking near the area and also a drop off spot right at the entrance. We are very aware of how difficult walking can be for many people suffering from CMT and other health issues.

  • What else should I know?

    • Check out our "training" videos on how you can prepare for this fun event!
